On Friday, 15 Jamadilawal 1431 Hijrah corresponding to 30th April 2010 Awang Abdul Hamid bin Mohd Zain, a bedridden senior citizen received much needed assistance through the Yayasan Volunteer Unit under the Committee for the care of senior citizens and families in need of assistance project (PAWEK) of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The 75-year-old man, who resides in Kg Sungai Besar, has been paralysed since four years ago. He is under the care of one of his daughter and her 11-member family. Currently, the family is living without assistance from any agencies.

On Sunday, 22 November 2009, the Volunteer Unit of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah through the Social Care Project for the Elderly and Needy Families (PAWEK) in its effort to assist the welfare of the people in this country held a community work which was cleaning inside and outside the area of a house of an elderly, Dayang Nur Sabrina binti Abdullah Jingga at Kampong Selapon, Mukim Batu Apoi, Temburong District.

Aid for Senior Citizen

A social activity was carried out on Sunday, 25 October 2009 at Dayang Saadiah binti Ahmad´s residence which took place at Kampong Panchur Papan, Tutong District, Brunei Darussalam. This activity was organized by the Yayasan Volunteer Unit through the Social Care Project for the Elderly and Needy Families (PAWEK).

Dayang Saadiah binti Ahmad has been bound to a wheelchair for almost 10 years, suffering from physical disability.
