One of the aims for the establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is to support the welfare of the people of Brunei Darussalam. In line with this, one of the projects of Yayasan Volunteer Unit, i.e. Enhancing Socio-Economics Towards Zero Poverty Aid Project (PBSE) aims to assist the needy families.
PBSE have chosen Kampong Bolkiah ´A´ and ´B´ as venues for the case studies as a result of data obtained from surveys done in June 2006 and May 2008 where it was reported that both villages have the highest level of poverty.
