Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

On Saturday evening, 2 Jamadilawal 1431H corresponding to 17 April 2010, the Volunteers Unit of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) held an appreciation dinner for the Yayasan volunteers at the Cesar Grand Hall, Orchid Garden Hotel. The dinner is to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Yayasan Volunteers Unit, as well as to appreciate their hardwork towards making the social projects and activities a success since the establishment.
The ceremony began with the mass recital of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by Doa Selamat led by Ustaz Haji Shamsul Muawan bin Haji Shodiq, Religious Teacher at the Yayasan Secondary School. This was followed by an opening speech by Dr Awang Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, a member of the Yayasan Board of Directors. The Guest of Honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yayasan then delivered a speech. An appreciation speech was then delivered by a representative of the Yayasan volunteers, Mohd Hussairi bin Hamidon.
The Guest of Honour then presented certificates of appreciation to 267 volunteers who have been participating and supporting in the projects and activities to enhance the social welfare of the people of Brunei Darussalam handled by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah through the Volunteers Unit since its establishment in 2006.
Also present were some of the members of the Yayasan Board of Directors who are also the committee members of the Yayasan Volunteers, Assistant Managing Directors and senior officers of Yayasan.
