Handover Ceremony of Donations from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah

On Wednesday, 22 Rabiulakhir 1431H corresponding to 07 April 2010, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah presented several donations particularly to boost the educational activities in this country:


  1. Donation for organising the “Fifteenth International Conference on Education (ICE) 2010”

    2.  

    • In line with the Yayasan’s establishment in the area of education that is to support higher education institutions in organising research and development programmes in the interest of scientific, technological and community development, Yayasan donated B$10,700.00 to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The donation is to cover part of the expenses for organising the “Fifteenth International Conference on Education (ICE) 2010” which will be taking place in Universiti Brunei Darussalam from 24 to 27 May 2010. The theme of the conference is “Challenging Models, Challenging Minds: Initiating Effective Educational Reform and Development”.

      •  

    • The aim of this conference is to discuss and debate, informed by a set of international perspectives, the ongoing challenges facing contemporary educators, with particular focus on the challenges of providing effective schools and schooling.

      The donation was received by Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Dean of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

       

  2. Donation to assist in school necessities

    • Yayasan’s involvement in supporting the education welfare of the less fortunate students is in line with the Yayasan’s establishment in taking care of the welfare and wellbeing of the needy.

      •  

    • Yayasan contributed B$3,600.00 to less fortunate students of upper and lower six at the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys’ Arabic Secondary School. A total of 18 students (4 from the upper six and 14 from the lower six) will receive B$200.00 each for their school needs.

      •  

    • Ustazah Hajah Asmah binti Haji Randah, Principal of Hassanal Bolkiah Boys’ Arabic Secondary School received the contributions.

  3. Donation for the Counseling and Career Guidance Section, Ministry of Education to organise the 2010 Anti Drugs Competitions

    4.  

    • In support with the anti drugs programme organised by the Counseling and Career Guidance Section of the Ministry of Education, Yayasan donated B$17,850.00 to cover the costs of the prizes for the anti drugs competitions that will be held this year:

      •  

      1. Anti Drugs Choir Competition for Primary Schools.

        (From May to July 2010)

        2.  

      2. Anti Drugs Action Group Competition for Secondary Schools and Colleges.

        (From June to October 2010)

    •  

    • Receiving the donations was Haji Aji bin Haji Othman, a representative from the Counseling and Career Guidance Section.


All of the donations were presented by Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim bin Haji Daud, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
